EMC World 2010: It was an exciting week

EMC World 2010 started last Sunday and continued through the week (Thursday). Quite an exciting show, great work on behalf of Len Devanna and team at the Bloggers Lounge, it turned out to be the hang out place for the who’s who of the blogosphere and EMC Executive Management since the Silicon Angle The Cube was hosted in the lounge.

.

Sunday: Long check-in queues for registration, though was a good idea to check-in on Sunday. Upon registration got to meet some of the Social Media friends. The Counting Crows show was next.

Monday: Early AM breakfast and then Joe Tucci’s Keynote. The VPlex announcement that morning along with FAST VP (Version 2). VPlex Local and VPlex Metro released. Announcements for VPlex Geo and VPlex Global later in the year.

Another great Keynote by Pat Gelsinger and the VPlex demo.

Tuesday: Brian Gallagher presentation on Symmetrix, Another day of announcements on Clariion FAST Cache and Unisphere Management Tool announcement in the keynote speech by Rich Napolitano

Wednesday: Sanjay Mirchandani Keynote regarding the transformation of IT at EMC. Later in the evening the party at Faneuil hall, amazing 6000 people packed in this place. Good to hangout with folks from EMC, customers and social media folks.

Thursday: Half a day of sessions, no keynotes. Due to customer meetings I did not attend the Thursday sessions.

During these 3 days, attended some sessions, private meetings, great time at the Bloggers Lounge, nice meeting EMC fellow bloggers, some customers, breezed through the Solutions pavilion and attended couple of parties. Though over and over this was an amazing event.

.

Along with John Furrier, Dave Vellante, StorageZilla (Mark Twomey) and Len Devanna did a Silicon Angle Cube TV chat on Social Media and Storage.

Also thanks to Brian Henderson, for giving me this crazy idea to sort of climb on a VBLOCK, ….what was I thinking…
